Upcoming works on Dawney Hill and Gole Road
Knights Brown will shortly begin improvement works on Dawney Hill and Gole Road, aimed at enhancing traffic flow and infrastructure in the local area. This work forms part of our ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure and support the needs of our growing community. These improvements are part of a wider programme of upgrades being delivered under the Section 106 agreement for the Mindenhurst development. They are being undertaken in accordance with the hybrid planning permission granted in 2014, at the request of Surrey Heath Borough Council’s planning department.
To improve traffic flow and reduce delays, Dawney Hill will be widened to create a new two lane northbound approach, including a dedicated left turn lane into Gole Road. The scheme also includes improved footpaths, a layby area, an informal pedestrian crossing, and enhanced bus stop infrastructure.
The works are scheduled to begin on Monday 13 October and are expected to last for approximately 22 weeks. To carry out these works safely, a 24/7 northbound road closure will be in place on Dawney Hill from Caterham Close, with signed diversion routes available via the A322 Bagshot Road. In addition, a full closure of Dawney Hill and the Gole Road junction will occur Monday to Friday between 09:30 and 15:00, outside of school run hours to minimise disruption.
A full overnight closure will also be required in January 2026 to complete carriageway resurfacing but further details of this will be sent out nearer the time.
To help you plan your journey, a detailed diversion route is available here: Diversion
We understand that roadworks are disruptive therefore we are committed to working closely with our contractors and the community to minimise inconvenience wherever possible. Refuse collection will continue as normal, and weekend working will only be considered if necessary to keep the programme on track. Traffic management plans have been carefully designed to avoid peak school run times and signed diversion routes will be in place to help residents navigate the area safely.
If you have specific access needs, you are expecting deliveries, or you have any concerns, please speak to the site team once works begin and they will do their best to accommodate you. We also encourage residents to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time during the works.
If you have any questions or concerns about this work, please do not hesitate to contact Knights Brown at info@knightsbrown.co.uk, or contact us at hello@mindehurst.co.uk.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of development. We understand that it will be disruptive, but we will work with you to mitigate this as much as possible.
