Infrastructure Improvements at M3 Junction 3 (A322)
From 13 October 2025, Knights Brown will begin improvement works on the westbound carriageway of the A322 near M3 Junction 3. These works are part of wider efforts to improve traffic flow from Guildford to the M3 and are expected to last for around 22 weeks.
This work forms part of our ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure and support the needs of our growing community. These improvements are part of a wider programme of upgrades being delivered under the Section 106 agreement for the Mindenhurst development. They are being undertaken in accordance with the hybrid planning permission granted in 2014, at the request of Surrey Heath Borough Council’s planning department.
The project will include:
- Widening the carriageway to add an extra lane
- Building a new signalled pedestrian crossing
- Upgrading drainage systems
- Clearing vegetation
- Improving nearby footpaths
To complete resurfacing, there will be overnight road closures in January and February, between 9pm and 6am. A clearly signed diversion route will be in place to help guide drivers during these times.
To help you plan your journey, a detailed diversion route is available here:Diversion Route
If you live close to the carriageway, you may notice some temporary noise from flashing lights or reversing vehicles during night works. We’re really grateful for your patience and understanding while these improvements are carried out, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
We understand that roadworks are disruptive therefore we are committed to working closely with our contractors and the community to minimise inconvenience wherever possible. Refuse collection will continue as normal, and weekend working will only be considered if necessary to keep the programme on track. Traffic management plans have been carefully designed to avoid peak school run times and signed diversion routes will be in place to help residents navigate the area safely. Traffic management will be removed over the Christmas period helping to ease travel during the festive season.
If you have specific access needs, you are expecting deliveries, or you have any concerns, please speak to the site team once works begin and they will do their best to accommodate you. We also encourage residents to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time during the works.
If you have any questions or concerns about this work, please do not hesitate to contact Knights Brown at info@knightsbrown.co.uk, or contact us at hello@mindehurst.co.uk.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of development. We understand that it will be disruptive, but we will work with you to mitigate this as much as possible.
