Cycling
There are many opportunities for cycling at Mindenhurst, be it for leisure, health, or accessing school or work. The Mindenhurst development has been designed with cycling in mind. There is a network of cycle routes provided by the development which have been designed to connect all of the residential neighbourhoods with local facilities both within Mindenhurst and beyond.
Cycling allows an opportunity for sustainable, green travel with the added benefit of being able to travel a little further than by journeys on foot.
Aside from being the most environmentally friendly way to travel, cycling has other benefits. Cycling regularly will provide genuine health benefits. For example, reducing the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, obesity and some cancers. It also reduces cholesterol, lowers high blood pressure and is good for your sense of well being.

Useful Apps and Websites
CycleStreets: This website allows you to easily plan cycle journeys with variable route options available to all levels of cyclist.
MapMyRide: If you find yourself getting bored of the same daily route, Map My Ride is a great way to discover new ones. When you come across a really great route, you can save and share it with your friends so that they can access it too. You can also see what your friends are doing on your activity feed; join challenges to compete with others; climb the leader board; and win prizes.
BBC Weather: The great British weather is always something to consider when cycling! Use the BBC weather app to check the conditions before cycling and make sure you’re prepared for what nature may throw at you!
Strava: Strava can be used to track more activities than you can shake a stick at, from cycling through to windsurfing, and of course, walking. With the help of GPS it can measure distance, time, elevation gain, calories and route. It’s even possible to track your heart rate if you sync the app up with your heart rate monitor.
